Book Lovers Club
The Book Lovers’ Club is a bimonthly book club. Our book discussions focus on relationships and inspirational stories that can be applied to both our professional and private lives.
For Adults, conducted once every two months in English at Central Public Library.
Book Ninjas
A digital book club for 12 weeks suitable for Tamil-speaking children from 3 to 6 years. Club includes storytelling and a play-based activities, conducted over Zoom.
For Children between 3 to 6 years old, conducted ad-hoc in Tamil online.
Book Rangers Club
A digital book club for 16 weeks suitable for Tamil children from 7 to 10 years. Club includes storytelling and related reading activities and crafts, conducted over Zoom.

Bishan Seniors Reading Club 碧山乐龄读书会
Come join a group of active senior citizens in this monthly book discussion activity! As the sessions are facilitated and conducted in Chinese, you also get to improve your Chinese conversational skills as you share your experiences in life along the book discussions.

Fan Shu Reading Club 翻书读书会
Fan Shu Reading Club engages in book discussion through face-to-face discussion as well as online platforms. The genres covered varies from biography, art appreciation and many others. The book club is lead by Channel 8 newscaster Zhao Quan Yin and targets at readers aged 20-30 years old.

FOL Book Club
This monthly book club was set up by a group of long-time friends who first got to know each as library volunteers, or Friends of the Library (FOLs). We started discussing Read! Singapore short stories since 2010 and have ventured into other short stories, both by local and other prominent writers. Members take turns to facilitate. Authors are also invited to join in our sessions, bringing much value to the discussion.
We hope to be a welcoming platform for Arts & Craft loving seniors and adults to meet and learn together.

Through sharing books on education, psychology and self-development, the club hopes to inspire members, broaden their horizons and promote parent-child relations.

Han Cultural Reading Club 汉文化读书会
Han Cultural Society and Geylang East Public Library setup the reading club in 2020. The reading club focuses mainly on the sharing of historical and classical works, aiming to inspire our readers to enjoy these classics.

The Heartlands Book Club, formed in August 2005, was the outcome of the Read! Singapore nation-wide initiative. The Book Club aims to promote the culture of reading among all who share the love for reading. We discuss mainly books on Singapore and Asian fiction, Award-winners and non-fiction inspirational books.

Parenting Book Club
Parenting without a support network, encouragement, and sharing of experiences can be exasperating and lonely.
This parenting book club aims to share alternative parenting perspectives and up-to-date tips and tricks to parent our children. We will read together, hold open discussion and take home some tips, so that we can better support our children and grow together as a healthy and strong family.
These parenting book club discussions are hosted on a regular basis via online or at local libraries. All sessions will be warmly facilitated by Jenny, a professionally trained parenting coach. Register for her sessions and make parenting pals today!

SG Writings Reading Club(Former Tea Chapter Reading Club) was founded in October 18, 1998. The reading club encourages reading practise, promote reading culture and share reading knowledge. Through the practise and sharing, we aim to improve our ability to appreciate literatures and to develop our latent sense of art, and to explore the true essence of literatures together.

WISHers Reading Club
WISHers was formed in March 2005 to promote reading to senior citizens and housewives. This reading club holds lessons on simple conversational English as well as basic Hanyu Pinyin. Participants get opportunities to practise reading aloud.

Writing the City Writers' Group
We are a literary arts platform in Singapore which supports a community of new, emerging and established prose writers to develop their writing craft. We provide a space for writers in Singapore to share their work, and to give and receive feedback.
Our focus is on writing craft and technique in a Singaporean context. We organise monthly workshops, and with each workshop we explore a specific thread of the writing craft, from writing about love, to the intricacies of worldbuilding. We’ve enlisted help from a diversity of local authors, from speculative fictionist Ng Yi-Sheng, to Akshita Nanda, Singapore Literature Prize Winner and Straits Times columnist.

3G Book Club 第三代读书会
This reading club was first founded in 2006 by a group of Chinese Language teachers to promote reading. The club welcomes anyone who enjoys reading to participate in their sessions. They discuss both local and overseas Chinese works, and also organise reading workshops periodically.

சிங்கப்பூர்த் தமிழ் எழுத்தாளர் கழகம் – கதைக்களம்
சிங்கப்பூர்த் தமிழ் எழுத்தாளர் கழகம் 45 ஆண்டுகளாக சிங்கப்பூரில் தமிழ் மொழி வளர்ச்சிக்கும் தமிழ் இலக்கிய வளர்ச்சிக்கும் பணியாற்றிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது. ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் முத்தமிழ் விழா, கம்பன் விழா, மு.கு. இராமச்சந்திரா புத்தகப் பரிசு, கவியரசு கண்ணதாசன் விழா என நான்கு முக்கிய விழாக்களை நடத்துகிறது. ஒவ்வொரு மாதமும் சிறுகதை இலக்கியத்தை மையப்படுத்தி கதைக்களம் என்ற நிகழ்ச்சியையும் நடத்தி வருகிறது.
Association of Singapore Tamil Writers is one of the most active Tamil organisations in Singapore, actively promoting Tamil language and literature for the past 45 years. They organise four main events every year, namely, Muthamizh Vizha, Kamban Vizha, Mu. Ku. Ramachandra Book Prize and Kaviyarasu Kannadasan Vizha. They also conduct monthly Kathaikalam event focusing on creative writing especially on the short story literary form.

Maya Ilakkiya Vattam / மாயா இலக்கிய வட்டம்
சிங்கப்பூரிலும் தமிழகத்திலும் வெளிவரும் இதழ்கள், மின் இதழ்கள் ஆகியவற்றில் உள்ள சிறுகதைகள், கவிதைகள் பற்றி விவாதிப்பதும், நடப்பு ஆண்டுகளில் வெளிவந்த சிறுகதைத் தொகுப்பு, கவிதைத் தொகுப்பு, நாவல்கள் ஆகியவை பற்றி விவாதிப்பதும் மாயா இலக்கிய வட்டத்தின் நோக்கம்.
Maya Literary Circle was formed with the key objective of focusing literary discussions on Singapore Tamil Literature, ranging from short stories, poems all the way to novels. Through these discussions, we hope to generate greater interest in Tamil Singapore Literature and also create a healthy space in which both writers and readers can not only interact but also channel reviews about locally produced literary works to the writers themselves.

Sangapalagai Literary Sessions / சங்கப்பலகை இலக்கிய அமர்வுகள்
பழந்தமிழ் இலக்கியங்களைப் படித்துப் பார்ப்போம். சங்க இலக்கியங்களின் வழி, நம் தமிழர் வாழ்வியல் நெறிகளைக் கண்ணோட்டமிடுவோம். இன, மத, நாட்டு எல்லைகளைக் கடந்து அனைவருக்கும் பயன் தரும் தமிழ் இலக்கியங்களின் சாரத்தை சங்கப்பலகை நிகழ்ச்சி மூலம் உணர்த்துவோம். அதன் மூலம் இளைய தலைமுறை பலனும் பெருமையும் அடைய வழி வகுப்போம்.
To read and review ancient Tamil Classics. To socialize literary criticism of such works among the general readers. To educate the youth on the rich and varied treasures of ancient Tamil literature cutting across region, race and religion.

Kavimalai / கவிமாலை
“கவிமாலை சிங்கப்பூர்” 2000-ஆம் ஆண்டு தொடங்கப்பட்டு கடந்த 20 ஆண்டுகளாக சிங்கப்பூரில் கவிஞர்களை உருவாக்கவும் ஊக்குவிக்கவும், அவர்கள் நூல்களைப் படைத்து, அச்சிட்டு, வெளியிடுவதற்கு தேவையான ஆதரவை வழங்கி, கவிதை இலக்கிய வளர்ச்சிக்குத் தொடர்ந்து களப்பணி ஆற்றி வருகிறது. இதுவரை கவிஞர்களின் சுமார் 125-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட நூல்கள் வெளியிடப்பட்டுள்ளன. 225 மாதாந்திரக் கவிமாலை நிகழ்ச்சிகளையும் கவிதைப் போட்டிகளையும் நடத்தியிருக்கிறார்கள்.
Kavimaalai Singapore is a registered Tamil Society for Tamil Poets. It serves to nurture Tamil Literature by grooming poets and offers a conducive environment for authoring, editing and publishing books on literature since 2000 annually. To date more than 125 books were published. For the past 20 years it has completed 225 monthly poet meets, workshops and poetry competitions.

Vaasagar Vattam / வாசகர் வட்டம்
வாசகர் வட்டச் சந்திப்புகளில் தமிழ் நாவல்கள், சிறுகதைகள், கவிதைகள், கட்டுரைகள் குறித்த ரசனைப் பகிர்வு, விமர்சனம், கலந்துரையாடல் ஆகியவை நடைபெறும். தமிழ் இலக்கிய உலகில் நடக்கும் சமீபகால மாற்றங்கள் குறித்து விழிப்புணர்வை உருவாக்குவதும் இந்தக் குழுவின் நோக்கம்.
Readers Circle conducts monthly meetings. A particular book or author will be chosen, read and readers will give their views. This will be followed by further sharing and discussion. Through these sessions people are encouraged to read more books. It aim i to develop a habit a lifelong serious reading among the Tamil Community.

Young Writers Circle / இளம் எழுத்தாளர் வட்டம்
இளம் எழுத்தாளர் வட்டம், தேசிய நூலக வாரியத்தின் கீழ் ஒரு கற்றல் சமூகமாக இயங்கி வருகிறது. இளம் தமிழ் எழுத்தாளர்கள் தங்கள் இலக்கிய திறன்களைச் செம்மைப்படுத்தவும் சிங்கப்பூர்த் தமிழ் எழுத்தாளர்களாக தங்கள் தனித்தன்மையான குரலைக் கண்டறியவும் ஆதரவு வழங்குவது அதன் நோக்கம். 2018-இல் ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்ட இந்த அமைப்பு, தமிழ் இளையர்கள் மட்டுமல்லாது பொது மக்களுக்கான பல்வேறு தமிழிலக்கிய நிகழ்வுகளையும் முன்னெடுப்புகளையும் ஏற்பாடு செய்து வருகிறது.
Young Writers Circle is a learning community under the National Library Board. It strives to develop and support young Tamil writers committed to honing their literary talents and finding their distinct voices as Singapore Tamil writers. Having started in 2018, the circle has organised multiple literary events and projects not only for Tamil youths, but also the larger public in Singapore.

Thulir Reading Club / துளிர் வாசிப்பு முகாம்
துளிர் வாசிப்பு முகாம் 2019 ஜனவரி மாதம் 26 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூரோங் வெஸ்ட் பொது நூலகத்தில் வாரம்தொரும் சனிக்கிழமை 6 – 7 pm இயங்க ஆரம்பித்தது. 3 குழந்தைகள் கொண்டு ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்ட இம்முகாம் இன்று ஒவ்வொரு வாரமும் 15 க்கும் மேற்பட்ட குழந்தைகள் தொடர்ந்துப் பங்கேற்க, மிக அருமையாக இயங்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது. இவ்வாசிப்பு முகாமின் நோக்கம் குழந்தைகள் மத்தியில் வாசிப்பை ஊக்குவிக்கவும், அவர்களுக்குள் இருக்கும் படைப்பாற்றலை வெளிக்கொணர்தலும் ஆகும்.
Thulir Reading Club started on 26 Jan 2019 at Jurong West Public Library from 6pm to 7pm. The club started with 3 kids but now we have an average attendance of 15 kids in our weekly sessions. The sessions are very successful. Our aim is to promote reading and creativity among children.

Rava Upma / ரவா உப்புமா
சிங்கப்பூரில் தமிழ் மேடை நகைச்சுவையை அறிமுகம் செய்து மாதம்தோறும் நிகழ்சிகளைப் படைத்து வருகிறவர்கள் “ரவா உப்புமா” நகைச்சுவைக் குழுவினர். வளமான தமிழில், தரமான பொருளை நல்ல நகைச்சுவை உணர்வோடு பேசும் பேச்சாளர்கள்தான் இந்த ரவா உப்புமா குழுவினர்.. அனைத்து வயதினரும் புரிந்து அனுபவிக்கக்கூடிய தேர்ந்த தமிழ் நகைச்சுவை விருந்து படைக்கும் இவர்களின் எதிர்காலக் கனவு தமிழ்மொழி சிரிக்க வைக்கவும் சிந்திக்க வைக்கவும் பிறந்த மொழி என்பதை நிலைநிறுத்துவதே.

Centre for Singapore Tamil Culture / கலாசார மரபுடைமை கலந்துரையாடல் தொடர்
தமிழ் கலாசாரம், பாரம்பரியம், கலைகள் போன்றவை குறித்து நடத்தப்படும் கலந்துரையாடல் நிகழ்வு. நிபுணர்கள் கலந்துகொண்டு உரையாற்றுவர். தலைப்புக்கு ஏற்ற நூல்களைப் பொதுமக்கள் இரவல் பெறலாம். மாதம் ஒருமுறை.
The Centre for Singapore Tamil Culture (CSTC) aims to study, share and sustain aspects of Tamil culture in Singapore, as well as to build bridges across Singapore cultures for a better appreciation of each other’s culture.
CSTC will focus on programmes and publications that promote intercultural understanding. In so doing, it will collaborate with like-minded organisations and individuals to extend its reach and enhance its coverage.

Dungeons & Dragons Experience with The Legitimate Business
The legendary tabletop role-playing game has arrived at NLB. Learn about Dungeons & Dragons with The Legitimate Business. Step into the shoes of your very own fantasy character and enter the Forgotten Realms.
All are welcome to these sessions. Newcomers and casual players can register their interest through Eventbrite and be led through D&D campaigns by our friendly Dungeon Masters. Veteran players can sign up directly via Warhorn.
For teens and older, conducted on the 4th Saturday of each month at Choa Chu Kang Public Library.
